:) i haven't watched any new ones, but some famous ones are:
glass slipper
my lovely samsoon
7 spoons (gosh that's old, but it was sooo sad!)
noo kim (feeling) --reaallly old, but i loved it haha!
mohraeshigae (that does mean sandglass!)--old gangster one, but it's awesome!

Its an old one but you can get Sandglass on DVD now. It's a miniseries - I think it's the 2 or 3rd top rated of all time. Basically a ganster movie, but it has drama, action, love, everything.

don't know about korean soap operas but there are a lot of good korean movies like windstruck, my sassy girl and siworae (il Mare). :-)
