It has to be about a social issue that is misunderstood or not something that people generally talk about. I want something really interesting and have a few ideas but could use some suggestions

what about writing about self injury? A lot of people think that "cutting" is something reserved for goths, and that its about image and attention. But if you look into the issue further, you'll find out that more often than not, a true self injurer is someone who will go to great lengths to hide it, not show it off.... check out selfharm.net and read about it, and if you need a person to interview, or real life examples, I can help you.... I am a self injurer, and I know many links to journals of others, as well as other people who would be willing to talk to you.

Try the truth about homeless people... are they there because of "bad luck," addictions, laziness, or some other reason? What is the government doing about it? What is society doing about it? Are there programs to help and if so, why aren't more homeless people using those programs? I was downtown LA yesterday and I personally know and have been to at least 6 shelters in the downtown area. They are not overcrowded. So why are there still homeless people on the streets?

Here is one that is a good topic and a social issue too.
Why the education system doesn't recognize each individual student's potential.
It is a know fact that the education system as a whole prepares us to be good employee's but seldom good employers. Why doesn't the education system prepare us equally in case we want to be the other?

My brother did a study on Walmart and the financial skyrocket that it had or something and there are a lot of people who love it and hate it at the same time. .. Just an idea.. good luck.

part of the reason why most students are able to graduate half witt and practically illiterate..they can not have an individual taught on their own..they need every one else to do the hands on..they are lazy as hell.
