I have been with my partner for five years. So he was working on an essay on computer in the bedroom the other night. I was going to bed and could not stand the keyboard tapping sound and the light, so I asked him to move the computer to other room since it is available now. But he said no. After 10 mins I asked again, and he was so upset and said he does not like that room since it is just vacant. I told him he just need to roll the desk to that room and it is simple. Finally he decided to take the compute in pieces and put them together again the third room. After that he lost the wireless internet connection and need a key number for it. I felt so frustrated and pretended I didn't know it. He got so frantic then and kicked the book on the floor and and said I fuxx up his essay. Is he self-centered? Why can't he be a little more considerate and chose a easy way I suggested to solve the problem. I almost feel this 5 year relationship is worthless now.

Honey ! I think he was just tried and needed to get that essay done. Next time you move to another part of the house/apartment and then talk to him in the morning about it.

relax ..breathe and talk with a clear mind.
Never go to bed mad. Its unhealthy.

Well studies show that having a TV or computer in the bedroom is a bad idea. It prevents proper sleep and can wreak havoc on your normal daily schedule. In as much; your partner should have been a little more considerate. If he were in your position; I'm quite sure he would see the day off lite. Don't read more into the argument. He was more than likely frustrated with the essay as opposed to you. Sit with him and explain that you hope that his essay turns out well, and that you just needed sleep. Remember, five years out weights a simple misunderstanding any day. If you only knew the people straight and gay, who wish they had bragging rights to five years. Congratulations!

No, I don't think that there is anything wrong with either one of you. Actually you sound kinda like me and my partner. Something so minor and easily fixed gets blown up into something that winds up hurting both person's feelings in some way. I'm sure you guys will get this issue resolved. Five years is a long time to end over an issue with the computer. Your partner needs to be a little more considerate of the fact that you are trying to sleep.

"I almost feel this 5 year relationship is worthless now."--over a computer? You had bigger problems than this before hand if it all falls apart from moving a computer. That's like getting a divorce because the wife burned the toast.

I'm sorry I think you were wrong. It seems that he was already there. I would have gone to bed in one of the other rooms. Just try to imagine the stress he must have been under trying to complete his paper. I'm sure he wanted to do well. You should apologize to him for being inconsiderate. I think you and he will make it. A make party would be nice.

All relationships go through testing. Maybe you need to take a break and go on a mini-vacation to get things back on track with each other. But then again I'm no relationship expert, believe me.

This is why my wife and I don't allow computers in the bedroom.

If there's absolutely no other place, a pair of earplugs and a scarf tied around your eyes, blindfold-style, will help you a lot next time.

Could you not go sleep in another room on the couch or something. I mean he needed to get his work done.
