People from the future intercept planes right before they crash and replace all of the "to be dead" with dummies. I think they have some kind of breeding issue in the future. One boy who survies a plane crash grows up to be a flight crash inspector and finds a piece of future tech. left on the plane.

well except for the Plane part, it sounds like "free jack" with emileo Estevez... dont remember what happens in the future, but when he's racing a car and nearly dies crashing into a wall (i think it was a bridge) he instead appears in the future.
Mick Jagger was also in it.
