If I am randomly drug tested at work and I quit or just leave, before I take it, will anything negative go on my "permanent record."

I mean to say that, if my boss walks up to me with a pisscup and tells me to take the test, can I say "no, I quit," and not get marked as a "refuse to take" or "probable positive."

I'm not really a druggie. Just a lil' pot and some blow once in awhile.

No if the test is random and you leave before your time comes up to take it, it will not go on your record. However, if it is the policy of your employer that you give a two week notice then that will go on your record. Not the part of the drug test. So you should give whatever notice instead of just leave. However if you stay have the test and leave that may go on a record. Depends on your place of employments policy concerning drug testing.

I think that it really depends on what kind of work you do. But if you drive a commercial vehicle it will definitely go on your record. To refuse, quit, or leave after being asked to take the test will be seen as a positive result and will be add to your permanent record.

Why don't you just quit now? Why wait until you have to take the drug test to do it, you'll just look foolish. I don't quite know if it will be put on your "record" or not, they may make note and share the fact that you bailed when faced with a drug test if a future employer calls them for a reference. My suggestion would be, if you're really going to just puss-out like that, to never use that employer as a reference.

Actually large companies will never divulge if you quit or was fired. Many are afraid of privacy issues and only confirm you were employed there.

Depends on the company... Most likely so, since you did not give 2 weeks notice...
