Of course it makes sense to wear a mask or find someway to alter your appearance/not being recognized.
Someone yells Superheroe's real name. Supervillain abuses the yellow book and kidnaps familiy. <--lol how uneventful.

Well Superman and Wonder Woman don't need them because oddly enough people in the Dc Universe don't recognize them. But Wolverine often just wears his mask for fun but he has been in a lot of fights where everything but his underwear has been burn't off so who cares about those characters especially since Wolverine is already a Registered Superhero under the Law in the Marvel Universe.

Not all superheroes wear a mask, Superman, Wonder Woman, Professor X, The Fantastic4,Aquaman, The Submariner,Powergirl Thor, and a lot of others.

some dont care if others know who they are like wonder women or it helps with thier carrers like wonder man or starfire others do care and those are the ones that where masks ie spidy bats and robin
