Most Presidents in my life time haven't come into office with a vision for the country, nor acquired one that advance the country. Bush would have been little more than a footnote in the history books if 9/11 didn't happen.
Immediately after 9/11 Bush said the war on terrorism is going to take decades. Both the Left and the Press seem to think this war will be like throwing a switch.
I've yet to heard the Press or the Left offer a thought out alternative. I'll offer an alternative: If the Iraqis &/or the terrorists realy want the coiltion out of Iraq, have peace, I mean peace for 1 YEAR. They will consider the area has been won over. It will take about 6 monthes to bring the troops home. This is assuming the ones that want to have a civil war don't get antcy. After the troops are out it is unlikely they could be returned in a timely manner if violence again broke out.
I don't thing the ones that want a civil war are willing to allow a year and a half to past without stirring the pot. The locals mind set might change to like the wealth they can create with peace.

Ideals are fine, but you have to be practical as well. George Bush was a far better choice than John Kerry or Al Gore, and Dick Cheney is a great Vice President. If Cheney were in better physical shape, OR had a real solid backup, AND wanted to serve as President, AND was really electable what with all the bad liberal feeling against him, I'd vote for him against any other candidate that has shown up so far.

I voted for Mr. Bush and have mixed opinions on his performance. I am happy with his position on the security of the American people, but I think much of his domestic policy record is dismal. I do not consider Mr. Bush to be the best President ever, nor do I consider him the worst. In the end I believe history will remember him much the same way even though people are bitterly divided regarding the man at this time.

It's hard to do the right thing when doing the right thing is costly in terms of lives and dollars, but I believe that sometime within this century, G.W. Bush will be heralded as one of the greatest leaders of our era taking the offensive to terrorism, and promoting democracy and civil liberty to those that would otherwise not have had it without his support.
Thanks for asking!

Reagan was the best of the modern Presidents. George W. is up close to the top.

They're just defending him because he's a Conservative. Political parties these days are like gangs. The Cons and Libs, anyway.

One of the worst.
just because he talks about terror all the time does not make him a good president.
his legacy is disaster.
And Reagan was an actor who was recruited by the Rep. Party because he was popular, similar to Schwarznaggar.
Trickle down failed, because it was never meant to help the middle class.

Compared to an ideal, he is not.
Compared to the others running he was the better choice.
We have to deal with the alternatives we have.
