Dust is a fact of life, it is just more obvious on wooden floors than on carpet.
I have a wood floor kitchen/living room so I have the same problem.
I try and make a quick sweep part of my daily routine - while the kettle's boiling for my morning tea or when tidying up before bed. And I vaccuum at the weekend and wash it once a month (should probably wash it more often but too busy doing more fun things!)
Like all maintenance jobs it's OK provided you do it little & often.

I just found a site with thousands of downloadable woodworking plans, it s really great. You can check it out here ( woodworkingplans.kyma.info ) Here is an honest review : If you want to start a woodworking project, you need all the necessary information, including schematics, blueprints, materials lists, dimensions etc. That is where TedsWoodworking comes in. The plans are clearly drawn and there're step-by-step explainations of how the plan should be done and put together. There are several other sites whose collection of plans have the dimensions totally wrong without any indication of parts lists, material lists or the tools needed. If you're one of those people who have bought plans like this in the past, TedsWoodworking will change your perception. In Ted's Woodworking you will get everything you need: Diagrams which are detailed with a full set of dimensions, step-by-step instructions how to start your project and the necessary materials for that particular project. All the woodworking tools you will need: If you are a beginner or have done some woodworking you will find these plans easy-to-follow as the instructions are very clearly written. The woodworking plans are straightforward so they are not complicated at all. Even if you are a total newcomer to woodworking you will simply be able to master all the techniques that are needed and the woodworking skills very quickly by following the concise and clear instructions. Another thing which is so great about these woodworking plans is that there have been some videos included and there are some to guide you in how to build benches home furniture dog houses bird feeders sheds and much much more. There is also a lifetime member acess included in the package and you get these extras for no cost to you as they are free with no additional charges at all! This alone is worth the entire price for TedsWoodworking. Ted Mcgrath is a very dedicated and experienced woodworker who knows what he is talking about when it comes to woodworking and DIY projects s he has been a woodworker for many many years. There is only one drawback that we could find and that being with 16,000 woodworking plans you are bound to get some which look a little disorganized but that is understandable as it is very difficult to place all these plans into their proper categories. Secondly, it might take you a little longer to do the downloads on because of the size of them. But the members area include an option to upgrade to the DVD so you can save time on downloading. I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars. Here's the bottom line: If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you SHOULD use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Check the site: ( woodworkingplans.kyma.info )

Get an air purifier. Clean it out everyday at the end of the day. Also, have someone clean out your vents. This can cost anywhere from $100 to $600 depending on the size of your heating/cooling system, but need only to be done 2 to 4 times a year if you're sensitive to dust. You cannot prevent dust, only manage it. Cutting the carpet eliminates a lot of problems because not only does it hold dust (and dust mites), it irritates allergy sufferers with chemicals that are released from its fibers from the time it's installed to the time it's removed. You can stain your bare concrete floors and seal them if new hardwood flooring is out of the question. Hope this helps!

You cannot get rid of dust totally unless you live in a bubble.
It could be the product you use on the floors. I have laminate flooring and tile. I use the mircro cover on a mop to clean with. I use the product called Quick Shine by Holloway House. I purchase it at Wal-Mart.
You will always be able to see dust. I don't care if you clean every hour.

Yes, Use a high powered industrial vaccum to clean all current dust. Then seal your entire house in plastic wrap and seal your body and hair also in the same wrap and never go outside again.
It's gross, but most of the dust (besides obvious pet hair) is DEAD SKIN CELLS. Every time you open your door, the outside air will bring in more of the yukky stuff.
Screen doors help, carpet hides it but it's always going to be there.

I believe there is some kind of wood sealent or treatment that you can set down on the floor to slow down the build up of dust. Go to a hardware store they will probably put you in the right direction

I don't think you can, we produce the most dust as its dead skin cells, also a lot of household appliances like Televisions and PCs attract dust. Its a war we always lose. I have the same problem so hopefully someone can answer it.

Dust happens and some of i is even created by our own skin cells falling off. Like ewe!!!!
The air is full of particles, and you can eliminate some of that by installing an air filter that uses water.
Otherwise use my excuse : "I do not dust or remove cob webs because I am planning a Halloween party and I need the props".

you can't...... house dust is predominately skin cells, bits of clothing fluff and remnants of every day life.
To prevent house dust...You would need to have your house totally empty of all living and fibrous things.
Spiders would set up home and spin cobwebs....giving the impression of being dusty...but its really not.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/QwNZe
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
