Maybe a lot of people really don't care, it would seem that way in any case. Then again, many do & actively participate in civic matters. I think that others may be apathetic, maybe lazy, or maybe they don't feel that there is much they can do that would affect the future....so they just don't try, instead they just go about living their own lives while not worrying about anything past their front door.

Look at the public and you will have your answer. The "average American" is so incredibly dumb, no WONDER we have the leaders we have and no wonder we elected Dubya twice.
When society cares more about salacious representative's behavior, Paris Hilton's DWI, "reality" TV and they cannot read or write the language, what do you expect?
The majority of Americans care FAR more about the superficial and haven't the time or will to explore things in a depth that will allow true understanding. I think they get so disgusted by the little they learn-IF they are a part of the minority with the intellectual curiosity to want to know more-they just throw up their hands and decide the whole thing is too hopeless.
I hope I never get that disgusted-but I am getting closer by the day thanks to Dubya, Hastert, Cheyney, etc.

people only have a certain amount of brain matter functioning .This leaves them with huge blind spots on what reality realy is .
No God and we are all killers .Those who do not kill directly do by paying others for this service .
This is why blacks are imprisoned and killed at rates that are much higher then that for whites. BUsh used cocain drankway to much and beame president .While tyrone got busted twice shot and jailed for 30 years .
We can not accept that we are animals and killers willing to trade the lives of others for what we want today .
I have done my honest best to invest in america and buy american made products because i am white and have a good life here .
I see the minoity people in this country as a threat to the future of white people .Soon we will all be forced to live behind walls with security guards to protect us from those we have abused to gain the power and wealth we have today .
SOon they will figure out what we have done to them all and want revenge .Home invasions car jackings and crimes against whites is on the rise .NOt by blacks yet but by poor whites that have been left on the fringes of poverty who struggle so hard to get ahead .
Look the truth is unless you are born into it you are not going to rise to the top in most cases .
For the 100,000 small businesses who employ 100 people or less and whos owners make really good livings of those workers if you are a worker you will never advance to the top .Politics religion history all show the manipulation of the many by the few for the good of only the few .
They say we need it or society would fall apart . The truth is that there world would fall apart and for those masses at the bottom who struggle little will change .

I wondered this very same question! When liberals claimed that Bush lied about WMDs in Iraq, did they not realize it was actually Saddam that lied? If they knew what was going on in the world around them, they would realize that Iraq and Iran were enemies poised for war, and that Saddam was walking a tight-rope trying to satisfy UN inspectors while trying to convince Iran they still have WMDs (for deterrence). Saddam manipulated the situation to support both sides of this argument as he did not want to lose his upper hand with Iran and got caught in his own web of lies. People who know what's going on in the world understand this.

I think some people just are tired of being angry. I am almost to the point of not wanting to vote again. There seems no end is in sight for all that plagues us and some people just want to laugh again. Well, at least I do...and I'm an activist! Its so draining to care and I think people may choose not to be informed so they can live in mild peace.

Its not that they dont care.By all means broadcast it on fox news and they will care alot.No one is america digs too deeply into anything.There is no deep thinking in this country for the most part.Its just back your political party and attack the other side.

honestly,, not after hearing Hasterts statement about the Foley scandal, he said if we let them get to me, it could affect our elections,, he obviously cared more about his job and the Republican party being exploited than the vulnerable children in the halls of congress
