unable to read web page! urgent?

When i go to a japanese website or recieve an e-mail written in japanese it looks like:
¤¨¤ë!! º£¤¹¤°¥»¥ì¥Ö¤È²ñ¤¨¤¿¤é ¥é¥Ö¥ë¡¼¥È
Do i need a codec and if i do where can i download it from?

on your internet broswer, go to "view", then "character encoding", then choose "japanese" from the list.

Download Japanese fonts. They are available on the web. do a google search

Did you install Japanese language on your computer?
