Because my dog lies on one side of me and my husband on the other, I feel pretty secure about staying in bed.
Now why neither of them fall out...hmmm....I have to admit to having been concerned about my dog when he was a puppy, he was born blind in one eye, but you know he never has.
Which is good, my bed is nearly three feet off the floor!

I have a queen-sized bed and I sleep right in the middle. Lotsa space. My dog falls off the bed sometimes though.

maybe some people do and they just don't mention it.
Also i think even when you sleep you are still aware of your space and tend to stay on the bed

this is why most people have bedside cabinets. You need something there, so you can hit your head on it and pass out cold, just before you're likely to roll off.
