I had a friend/neighbor like that - same exact issue, and it drove me nuts. I finally became vocal, although polite. She'd say "Im cold! It's cold in here" and Id reply "you should really see a Dr because you say that everyday." In other words, don't placate her or agree with her - either outright ignore her and walk away (thats a good hint that someone doesn't want to hear it!) or come out and tell her "are you ever happy with anything? You complain a lot!" She WILL become offended at first, but it will also make her stop and think.

I would just say (kind of off-handed), "Are you unhappy with your life?" When your co-worker asks why, explain that she is always complaining about everything and just doesn't seem to be happy. I have done this before and the person made a point in saying something good to me.

stay polite in any respect fee so she has no longer one component to record you for. at the same time as some thing upsets her like lacking breakfast tell her you're sorry she is disenchanted. do not act like you extremely care yet no longer some thing she will be able to assert you probably did to expose that. an same with no longer getting her bins offhandedly make an apology, you've been busy and did not recognize she became that on the purpose of out. Ask her to furnish you better lead time next time, letting her recognize you're sorry in spite of the indisputable fact that it really is extremely her own fault. aren't any more making an attempt to placed her previous to different complications to close her up it only skill her whining is operating.

Be blunt and somewhat mean. If she says it's too cold, sarcastically say "Well, maybe you should have dressed warmer" or if she talks about commercials, say "Well stop watching TV" and then tell her it's her fault she sees them anyway. Stuff like that. Not only will she shut up, but she'll probably not talk to you. And it comes with the satisfaction of feeling better after blowing her off.

Start acting like her. Show her how foolish she looks. Or- just pull her aside and ask her why she complains so much. Or- tell your boss that she is becoming unbearable and let the boss handle it.
Good luck and have a great day!!!

Either have a private meeting with your supervisor about the problem .. or grab this employee by the arm and pull her to a corner and let her know you don't want to hear from her anymore. What can she do ? Except ignore you .. which you wouldn't mind anyway. :) Good Luck!

Explain to her it is disrupting your work environment. If that fails, go to your bodd and say it is causing lost work time and lowering worker morale. If that fails, go to HR and say negativity is effecting your ability to be a good contributor.
If all fails, go get another job. That work environment is populated with cowards and complainers and you do NOT want to keep working there!

Tell him to shut the hell up you don't want to hear the crazy **** he/she has to say because it's bringing you down and you're not complaining about anything so why should you have to hear it. Tell him to take his problems elsewhere or take it up with the boss.

Send her an anonymous card, and ask her politely to stop complaining as it is bringing alot of people down, and they are all getting very tired of it. They will appreciate you for doing it.

Just smile, and don't join in the complaining game.
Or you could try to encourage the person. Usually they don't want encouragement, they want to gripe...and they will leave you alone or quit complaining.
