It's a smoke screen, a diversionary tactic, to try to get voters to move from feeling disgusted at a Republican Congresssman to feeling pity on him. Poor Congressman Foley, look at what horrible things happened to him as a child (it has been shown by the way that kids who are molested are something like 300 times more likely to grow up and molest others, than kids who were not molested), it's not his fault that he did those bad things. Republican Congressmen aren't bad people, their just people that bad things happen to. The REALLLY sad part about it, aside from the fact that some poor high school kids has this powerful drunken old geeser trying to get in their pants, is that the American people will more than likely fall for the smoke screen.
