Of course it's sad. The man did it trying to make the fact that he sexually assaulted young girls 20 yrs ago better. How does shooting 12 little girls better, 5 of them are dead , some in critical condition still. I'm glad that the creep discarded himself, but why take innocent lives with you? What does this solve? He should have just turned himself in and spent the rest of his life in prison and got killed while he was in there. Any time a like is taken, no matter your race, sexual preference or your religious beliefs it's tragic. There's always family left behind that cared for that person deeply.

Yes. Why would anyone be nutty enough to destroy the lives of innocent Amish people? There are some who would disagree with their ways, but everyone's beliefs must be respected. Even a few females were murdered,..for what cause? It is despicable.

Yes- it's very sad. I would love to have asked this jerk if he felt like a big man picking on the defenseless. I'm glad he never got the chance to rape the girls as he planned. What a sicko!!!! It's that type of guy I'd like to string up by the family jewels in the public square for all to see.

It's terrible. I am from PA and there are a lot of Amish and Mennonite around and they are good people. They have been saying all day on the radio that this guy was sick and was planning this. I think it's horrible.

I'm from PA. Not too far from Lancaster. Such a sad thing to happen. I wish I could say it's a shock, but it's not. Three school shootings in less then three weeks. What's this world coming to? It's a shame when I have to worry about my kids at school.

sad, yes; but the way the amish community is handling the ordeal is the real story. we could all learn from their hearts, composure, faith, compassion, and forgiveness. i am awestruck by how these people remain unaffected by society's prate over the tragedy. they are closer to Truth than the majority of the rest of us.

I think he had alot of issues. I heard he molested or sexually assulted 2 of his relatives when he was younger. The guy should've talked to a psychiatrist or someone to get some help. Yeah, I think he was unhappy but at the same time he was very disfunctional. I'm just glad to know that he didn't do that to the girls he shot. I'm glad they didn't have to suffer that torment too.

What is happening with people these days, I am getting where I'm afraid of sending my child to school. Why do anyone want to go in a school and kill children that they don't even know? Has it got so bad that we will have to put a prison fence around our schools now? People if a thought ever crosses your mind like that, please get some professional help, our kids is our future.
