Of course it does! Anything that clogs your pores for any length of time will, especally if you don't remove it properly. I used to have problems with foundation. I stopped using it and my spots have cleared up and now my skin is perfect. I only use compact powder now.

Sorry to say bare escentuals is the best foundation for your skin. You can try mixing it with moisturiser and then applying it like a tinted moisturiser, that way it wont be to dry. On the other hand normal foundations are fine and will not cause you spots if you make sure you are cleansing and exfoliating your skin properly. The best time to cleanse is in the evening, this way you are not only removing your make-up but you are also removing the grime and pollution from the day. Do a double cleanse, the first removes the bulk of the make-up, the second removes any last traces of it. Then tone, toning neutralises your cleanser, because water alone will not do that. In the morning all you need do is buff your face over with a fresh warm face cloth. If you see traces of make up on that you haven't removed your make-up properly from the night before. Exfoliating twice a week will also help eliminate deeper down make-up that kinda works its way into your skin that you cant always get off with a cleanse. Hope that helps you hun

What do you mean by causes spots? Are we talking zits, red splothes, what?
If you mean zits then no. Foundation does not cause the zits. But may be a contributing factor if your pores become clogged due to you not washing your face properly.
If you mean splotches, then yes you may be alergic to your foundation. In that situation stop using it immediately and wash your face! Allow your face to breath. After that get a new foundation.
If you mean you have little dots of foundation all over like it has pooled up in places: Then you need to buy new foundation. One it could be old or two it could be cheap.
Anything else is hard telling because I need elaboration.
If you continue to have problems, or itching and redness please consult a dermatolagist.

Foundation doesn't cause spots, but clogging your pores up does.
Use a good base before you apply your foundation, wear it as little as you can - i know that one's tricky, i won't leave the house without my war paint - and use a good micro bead exfoliater and a non oily moisturiser on a night, I can highly recommend Boots Botanics range, all natural and leaves you're skin feeling gorgeous.

And no picking!! That's the worse thing you can do!! x

Good luck.

A good foundation can actually protect your skin from pollution and dirt, if removed properly at the end of the day, this can actually improve the condition of your skin and prevent spots.

No foundation doesnt cause spots. Its either no skin care routine or the wrong skin care you are using.

You could try mineral foundation. It is light but covers spots and is good for your skin.

puritycosmetics.co.uk is a good brand.

If you put moisturiser on before applying your make - up and cleanse and moisurise at night it shouldn't cause spots, it does depend on your skin type though as everyone is different.

It only causes spots if you leave it on, so just make sure you take it off at night because otherwise it blocks your pores..hope this helps =]
