I recently had a new slave drive installed on my computer but have decided to make the new slave drive the master and the current master the slave. I found these directions online but need a little more detail. Hook up the new HD as the slave. Use the installation disk that came with it and transfer/copy the entire drive (old) to the new HD. Disconnect the HD's and install the new HD as the master. Now what I need to know is exactly how do I transfer the old HD contents to the new one? The new one is set as the slave right now. And I want to hook the old one up as the slave so should I erase its contents at a certain time or just leave them on there? I have the disk for the new one only. I'm running Win 2000 Pro. Any more details or advice is greatly appreciated.

Partition Magic works really well for what you're asking.
It has a point and click interface and is real easy to use.

Good luck

Make old HDD as master, and New as slave.

If you want, use Partition magic to partiton the hdd,
Install and use Northern Ghost to backup your data.

Other method.
Boot windows
Copy all files/folders including hidden files to new drive, win386 swap file will not copy, dont worry it will be automatically created when you make the new one as master drive.
in the command prompt type "sys d:" *****assuming the "d:" is your new drive , this will copy the boot sector to the new drive

Use Partition Logic...it's free and works just like Norton Ghost or Partition Magic.
