I was just wondering is there anyway to go from being just bestfriends to having a relationship?
What if you came out and told this person how you felt about them, and their response to that was: "I don't want to ruin what we have now, cause if we change the relationship we could never go back to what we now have; I love what we have and I don't want to loose you as my bestfriend."
You can't change how you feel about someone just like that, but you have to respect what they feel. So what do I do? Please help...any advice would be great.

Thanks.

My husband and I were friends for years. My experience is that it can vacillate quite a bit over time. As in I wanted him, he wanted me, I wanted him, he wanted me...and finally, the same time! Being friends is an excellent choice, as a good friend is hard to find. Tables may always turn later, as heart-breaking as it is to endure, you've got to stay friends.

Sometimes, your bestfriend is an ever lasting love! But it sounds like from what your saying, one of the 2 doesn't want to ruin what you have, because the one saying that does NOT feel like the other does.

So, keep the bestfriend, and find a love some hwere else.

I don't know what you can do until your friend believes it can happen
But I did marry my best friend and wish everyone could ...
My daughter was told the same thing from a dear friend and he just went and married another girl . His reason was he wanted a friend and a lover to be different
Guys can be funny at times but so can we

My HUSBAND once said that to me because he was so in love with me that he was afraid to take it to the next level, because at that time I was not as much into him as he was me. So we remained best friends and over the years it evolved and I fell as madly in love with him as he was with me. Take your time and you will both know when the time is right. The best relationship (and marriage) is based upon a solid foundation of friendship first, so you're headed in the right direction.

Probably means they have some one else they like that way. You could try making a move and see how they respond. Good luck.
