Joint. That's what my husband and I do. We have 2 kids...and we get the most for our money, then.

File married filing joint with two dependents, you might want to file married filing separate, ask your tax advisor which is best. But you can no longer file head of household. But the most important thing to do throughout the year is keep accurate records of everything and receipts when necessary. You can also talk to your employer about a W4 plan. You can change what you are claiming on your W4 through out the year to benefit your tax liability.

You have two choices: Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately. If you are married on 12/31, you are considered married for the entire year. Head of Household is no longer an option for you.

Jointly is almost always better.

You should still file Head of Household because the year is ending and in order for you to claim any different it should be active for at least six months ..meaning you should be married at least 6 months in that year in order to do the taxes together..

You may want to check out H&R Block's website to see if they have any tax tips. If you're both working, you'll likely have to file Married - Filing Jointly. In any situation, you're apt to see a decrease in your tax return due to the influx of additional funds.
