My baby is two and a half months. She has been drooling alot and now she has been getting cold like symptoms such as she has a stuffy nose. She hasnt been to cranky just the normal. Also she has this diaper rash that wont go away. I dont know if it is her diaper or it is part of teething. Can a baby teeth this young? She cant really put toys in her mouth yet but she has been sucking on her hand more which she has never done before. Also she insists on having her pacifer. I have no clue if it is teething or just an ordinary cold. I am going to make her a doctors appt. but I just wanted your guys opinion also. Thanks

yes - expect a tooth. My two had the exact symptoms. :)

I don't think you need to take her to the doctor for that. Get some orajel or similar product and rub a little on with your clean finger. It worked great for my two.

As a mother of two grown children and many nieces and nephews and close friends children and a babysitter, I think I can answer that question. All babies are different. Your daughter could be teething. Her gums may be uncomfortable to her right now and she has no way to tell you since she is so young but you have picked up some signs. There are some really cool things out now that you can buy. In the baby department there are some teething toys that you can hold for her. They are the ones that have water in them. Of course, every child will like different ones. Keep one in the fridge at all times. The cold helps to numb the gums and help with the pain and letter her chew on the toy rubs the gums and help soothe them and maybe even come in faster. There is one that I used that was a triangle blue plastic with knobby things on it and also the little ring with separate sections with a figure in each one and water. Take a look in that section and try a few. It will also help with her visual and using her hands and sense of touch and so much more. Have fun. Oh, and a bib cuts down on the drool on the clothes, I used many bib with a plastic back and soft front. My children even chewed on those, so I kept plenty clean ones.
As for the diaper rash, I don't know what you are giving her to eat or drink, but some things have to much acid in them. Also changing the diaper as soon as it is wet will help. Also, applying diaper ointment during the rash and powder when not helps to keep her from the burning of the urine. And baby powder, the cornstarch kind, is not harmful if breathed and makes baby smell, well like a baby and that is such a sweet thing. Enjoy it all. It passes so fast.

Yes she probably is teething. and she is not to young to start feeling the sensations in her mouth you can probably buy some type of teething toy I have one from the Little remedies brand that is soft and every light weight she can probably told this one. and her diaper rash if balmex or desitin doesn't clear this up in a few days take her in so she can get a prescription My daughter had a rash and her Dr gave me a prescription it was a strong cortisone medication it went away in just a day.and I also let her air out for a few minutes at a time put a blanket under her and a lite receiving blanket on top of the bottom so she doesn't get to cold and have an accident. but shell be okay .Good luck hope she feels better and if she seems like she is in pain you can give her Infants Tylenol to the first line the lowest does she should be fine.

oh yes. my baby's about to pop thru 2 at 4 months old. You should know that it could take weeks to see them, though. Months, even. Their "movement" is what causes the symptoms. Some babies have teeth that move a little...then stop...then move more...and pop thru.

I think it is the excess saliva causing the tummy to produce more acid...making poopies irritate the bottom...that causes the diaper rash. Use A & D original (in the gold box) after every poopie, or at least twice a day and at bedtime. If it doesn't look better in a couple of days, try the a & d zinc oxide cream (in the blue box), same instructions. good luck...i agree with the pp who said its easier if the pop thru early...the kids just get whinier and more dramatic with age. lol

Yes, babies can get teeth that young. Also, babies can't control their saliva until about 4 months, so they will drool a lot. It doesn't hurt to have the doctor take a look at her because it could even be an ear infection. Before you give your baby Orajel or Tylenol (or any med - even OTC), consult with the doctor first. The pacifier is good because even if she doesn't chew on it, the sucking will help soothe her. You can use saline drops to help her stuffy nose. Good luck!

Yes. Babies start teething at this age. They start with a lot of drooling before they start chewing on everything in sight!! It is perfectly normal for them to start at 2-3 months old. You baby is right on track!!

Rashes should be taken care of but babies typically start teething around 3-7 months. They can start at 2.5 months :)

Yes your baby could be teething, but it is real young. My son starting teething late (like month eight) and they are still coming at a year and a half. God bless you if they come early and fast - you're lucky to be done with it.

Yes. Find a teething ring that straps to the hand/wrist and has soft plastic and gel inside for cooling in the freezer.

It sounds like she is teething. Kids are all different, most kids don't teeth until they are about 5 months, but my first started teething when she was about 3 months old.
Good luck!
