Be patient. She is your mother and knows what is best for you. Besides, possibly your mother cannot afford another cell phone on her account. The rates are horrible. Try asking her if you earn the money to pay your monthly fees by babysitting or doing extra chores around the house if she will then consider it. Also, most schools do not allow them and if a teacher or other school official finds you using it, it will be taken away and not given back the entire school year. Another thing which may concern her is that you will stay on it too much and not complete your homework and your grades made begin to fail. I'm sure there are many reasons for her thinking. Why not very nicely discuss them with her? It's always good to have a mom/daughter talk when it is done respectfully.

Why not get a job (part time if you're still in school) and pay for it yourself? Would she object to that? If so, what is the nature of her objection? You can argue that it is safer to have a cell phone, because then you and she can be in contact as necessary. She does not need to know where you are in order to call you, and you can call home if you get in trouble, or just expect to be late. (Hey, Mom, I'm on the bus and it's stuck behind a traffic jam all the way up to the next turn. I can't see what's the holdup is so I can't predict when it will get cleared, but I'm on the bus and on my way home.)

Well, Jasmine, Its that time in everyones life when you need to begin accepting responsibility. You could get a job and you could buy your own phone. That would be the responsible thing. OOOOR you could just beg and plead and make your Mom angry. After a few months of beating her down she may buy you the phone but guarantee she will begin to resent the site of you. Kick you out of the house and forever you will end up begging and sleeping with men or women to get what you want..........You're better off getting a job. Slacker. Stop whining.

show her that you are responsible to have a phone, try keeping your room clean, helping out around the house and stuff the that, if that dosent work, save up your money and get something pre paid, like a tracfone, there pretty cheap and you can find deals on there sight

the cheaper ones may not be all that nice, but if you really want a phone, it's great.

If you're at least 16, the easiest way to get a cell is to get a job. If not, patience is a virtue and it will pay off. Christmas is around the corner and maybe you can get one then. But whatever you do, don't nag your parents unless you want to be perceived as a spoiled brat. If your parents are like mine, they'll just delay getting you one.

you should respect your mother. there are a lot of reason that she could have. she might not have the money to provide you with a cell phone and air time...how old are YOU? why don't you get babysitting jobs and earn some money for yourself. maybe help her out once in awhile...count yourself lucky that you have a phone in the house and your mom lets you use it at all.

Make a case for one

1) Would be helpful in case of emergency
2) Sign o the times...should expect her child to be the only outcast when it is normal for your peers to have one.
3) Would keep the phone lines open for her important calls
4) A way for you to display your maturity by managing your minutes.

Get a job, and get a pay per call phone, where you put the money on it and talk till it's used up.

You are asking for people to help you figure out a way to beg, make a deal or manipulate.

Accept No and call it happy
