Ice packs for pain, don't release the milk even though it will be painful for a couple days it will make it harder to dry up if you keep releasing it. Make sure you wear a tight fitting bra at all times and try to avoid hot water on them for a long period of time in the shower. You will go through quite a few nursing pads the first week. My third child took three months to totally quit leaking, but it wasn't allot it was just a little here and there.

I did it cold turkey, hurt like h... but was done and over. If baby stops suckling it will dry up. I pushed on the ducts at the top of the breast to get rid of the milk (so the nipple is not stimulated). It was gone in a week or less.

What I did Was I took A hot shower and squeezed all the milk out that was left in. I then put on a tight sports bra plus a regular bra underneanth it to bind up my boobs. I did feel a little engorged for a couple of days but it did go away! I never took off the bra or sports bra when I went to bed. Only shower, but don't squeeze the milk out again.

When I was done nursing my daughter, I pumped milk for a few weeks, going less and less each day. I never had any problem with leaking. However, I've heard you can lactate for up to 2 years. My niece only nursed for a couple of weeks and she was still lactating when her daughter was 3. I guess it depends on the person. I believe there are medications which will help stop the milk production. Ask your doctor about it.

Wear a snug fitting (not to tight though) sports bra at all times, except when in the shower. Don't let that warm water in the shower hit you in the breasts, it'll make your milk come out! Also use ice packs, I used frozen bags of peas, they form right around your breasts! Good luck, it can get pretty painful!

Definitely wear nursing pads, you can use cabbage to help dry them up, and make sure you apply ice packs to help with the engorgement. It can be very painful, just be patient and it will be over soon! Good luck!

It takes a few days to a few weeks, but it will dry up on its own once you stop nursing.

Cabbage does not help dry your breast milk...you freeze the leaves, and place them on your breasts for ice packs. If you just leave them alone they will dry up. Also, stay away from beer, when you drink it, it makes more milk

NOt to scare you but mine didn't dry up for a year after. I'm pretty sure that is not normal, but my doctor didn't seem concerned because everything else was normal, (menstrual cycle, etc.)
Good Luck
