Had it done two yrs ago under a local anesthetic. Very little pain during the procedure, and little pain after.

Had one done when I was about 35, after our third and last child was born. A very small (less than 1/4") incision (more of a puncture) is made in the under side of the scrotum. One at a time the seminal ducts are pulled out, cut, ends cauterized, then reinserted. Your bag swells and is very sensitive for a few days. About 1 to 2 weeks later you can resume sex, but expect your semen output to be runny at first. Other than that, it's not a big deal.

Excellent procedure if you know for "sure" that you do not want anymore children!!! I had it done 30 years ago. I think it cost $150 back then. Nothing to it. Had it done on a Friday and was back to work on Tuesday.(It was a long 4th of July weekend) For me..... it was the best thing. Have been having a great time ever since. My present girlfriend loves it, knowing she has nothing to worry about concerning pregnancies. Works for me!!!!!!

You will here stories ranging from "a walk in the park" to "worst mistake ever".
If you truly are done having kids, or don't want any, then get it done. It takes all of 15 minutes, and it is relatively painless.
However, you may experience some pain months or years down the road, but it is transitory and brief.

I had it done back in the old days. "77 . No big problems. A little pain and discomfort that's all. Took about 20 mins.
Just make sure you don't want anymore kids. It is not always reversible.
Sure takes the worry out of being close.

I had the procedure. I was nervous as hell. However, it was a piece of cake. Its a little wierd laying there with a nurse holding "you" out of the way while the Dr. does his thing.
Words of wisdom after surgery....Go home and put ice on your balls. Keep it there Friday - Monday. Don't do anything. Don't cut the grass, don't wash the car, don't go for long walks. Rest all weekend. On Monday you'll be good as new.

yes and yes. It is an "In Office" procedure. You will have swelling of the area and there is typical surgery pain. Have plenty of ice available and a very large jock to contain things till swelling goes down. You will not going to work for a few days either.
And before you ask, Yes I'd do it again.

My husband just had one. He's fine, it's been a week. He was a little sore but nothing compared to what a woman would go through having her tubes tied.
Be sure you are done having children, the process can be reversed but it is costly and not always able to be done.

Well, the whole process takes about 20 min. When they have this done, you will no longer to be able to father children, if that's what you wish.
Afterward, they do testing just to see if the vas defrens is really snipped and sealed up.

Get one with a VasClip, it is minimal invasive procedure that takes less then 15 minutes. Less trauma and you are up and about in less then two days as there is no cutting of the vas deferens
