I just need to be a little festive for work and then out to a party. Full costumes won't work and over the top isn't me.

If you want a horror look, try those adhesive "wounds" you can find in most costume stores (pick up some spirit glue, too). I got the vampire bites a few years ago and, with the addition of some fake blood, they looked pretty cool and were fairly subtle - people looked twice just to make sure they had seen bites! If horror isn't your thing, then just try those cute headbands with the ears, horns, etc. You can find them in costurme stores or in places like Target.

Most stores have festive vests or scarves. I worked for a law office for a few years and we were encouraged to be festive with limits, as we had a lot of children in the office (Family Law). One year I painted my nails orange, wore a black skirt and blouse, and scarf that had a halloween theme on it, I teased my hair our and a hair clip that I found that had black cats. It was that simple and it was fun.

Maybe some military themed garments? Camo colored items? Or maybe just a fancy jacket with the normal workaday wear....
