Make the parents pay restitution for the crimes of their little buggers and I bet it will go down. Parents need to start parenting...and stop making society pay for the lack of control they have over the kids they have had. If you are not going to look after your kids then don't have them...and keep them off the street. Tired of lazy parents and their pesky kids.

i still believe that Charity begins at home. Parents should be responsible for the guidance of their kids starting at a very young age. Come to think of it, if we're more busy in work/business than into our own family, it's an unwise investment right! Our family will suffer, more or less, it will just create problems in the future.

little to 0 parenting is rampant in the country. if the courts started holding parents of minor children who commit crimes responsible i bet there would be a huge change in that age group versus other age groups ratio to violence. it's sad that people might have to be forced to talk to their children or spend an afternoon at the park with them by a court decision.

when you have a child your needs become secondary. if you don't make time with your child then the courts will deal with him/her accordingly when they break the law.

through out my child's school life i was one of 3 parents that was involved in her school on a weekly basis. what's up with that? life was not perfect, but it helps to see your parent care about your teen aged problems and life in general. parents should not belittle a child's personal or school problems. you should always sit and listen to your child. they really want you to be there for them more than any one else even there friends.

Some people say its because of TV/video games, others say its the parents.

I think its both, but espically the parents because they are the onse who let their kids place those video games and watch those tv shows. There are way too many parents who just don't give a crap about their kids..i'm sure you(like myself) see them everyday, everywhere you go.

Yeah....the states can invest in schools and it's young people.

When children don't have anything to do with their time.....they end up getting into trouble.

Look at kids who race cars and kill themselves and others.....look at kids who play a game with traffic by laying in the middle of the street....look at kids who use meth. and other drugs because they're bored.

We as a country have to start investing in our young people.....and parents have to step up to the plate and be parents.
