these youths who come round selling dusters, cleaning products etc door to door, claiming to be under some ex-offenders probation scheme for getting back on their feet, are they legit? Should I buy something from them albeit overpriced, to help them go straight, or are they trying it on?

They have these ID cards but on the occasions I have opened the door and told them I didn't want anything I felt a bit intimidated. One started pleading with me, it was awful and made me feel very vulnerable and awkward. Best not to open the door when you are alone to anyone.

We have had people in our area in the past selling dusters and other cleaning products, they claimed to be from an organisation for people with learning difficulties, they shoved a card in your hand as soon as you opened the door so you could allegedly verify whom they were, thing is if these people had learning difficulties why were they left to their own devises knocking on doors with no supervision, I didn't buy or wouldn't buy off them, I am very suspicious of it and believe its a con as I am sure it would have been published in newspapers and on the news as a learning difficulty or ex offender scheme don't you.

No, it's a scam. Even if there were such a scheme it would still be a scam to sell you cheap goods at high prices.
Remember that's your front door and you open or close it at your own discretion. Get a spyhole put in if you don't have a window, and don't open it to strangers!

Nope. Anyone who sells things door to door is a con-artist, if you ask me.
If I want it I'll go and get it - that's just my opinion!

if theres something you want and its reasonable buy it if not say sorry theres nothing i need cheerio if they are trying to get it together good luck to them its not easy selling door to door

no. the police know they are in the area.they carry a card to tell you this.its up th you if you want to buy things from them, you dont have to.
