I used to think Colin Powell did, but even he blatantly lied to the UN.

I worked for a US Congressman as an intern in the 1980's and 1990's while I was in high school and college. I was an intern in his district office in Wisconsin most of the time, but spent 6 months in DC. I never encountered any harassment or inappropriate behavior towards myself or other interns. Nor did I hear of any.

I think that there are some really good people who go into Congress and the Government, but some are not so good, and they make all the others look bad too.

Also, the saying goes - "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" and there is more than a grain of truth in that.

Politicians cannot be trusted. They may go to Washington with grand ideas for change, but they are quickly corrupted by the system. Once you are willing to sell your principles to the highest bidder there is no integrity left. There are only 2 reasons why politicians remain in Washington. These are money, power, or both and neither breeds ethics or integrity. However, your indictment is too broad. The term government officials covers a very broad range of people, not just politicians and their aides. Your local mailman is by definition a government official.

The more you listen, the worse it gets...sad but true. This latest public official who "likes young boys" is just another drop in the proverbial bucket. Shame, shame, shame...

Not I! Never have I seen any proof of such a thing in any politician.
