....Also, to follow up, one of my mates got a letter sent from bearshare saying their IP AND home address had been logged and if they continued downloading they would get fined! Happened to you?

not yet... if you use limewire and millions do.. they can't prosecute us all.. if you only download a few tracks a week, then they never notice.. its when you download thousands, alarm bells start to ring,
but we have all brought enough cd's in the past to justify a little downloading free... surely?

not sure how true this is but i was told that its NOT illegal to download music its illegal to distribute and that's where the copy right laws come into it. So as long as your not selling it your not breaking copy right cos its for personal use.

i saw on the news at least twice that i can remember people getting caught. this one girl used kazaa and ended up being sued by sony for millions of dollars. call me paranoid but im hittin up Best Buy.

No, honestly i think it's bullshit. I don't even think they're doing anything to stop copyright infringement and i think that's wonderful. It's about time the "land of the free" got something for free besides air. Thank you. come again.
