Sorry, but this is not just a "yes or no" question. What else can be done with them except burn them? It's not safe to landfill them, and they amount to too much to put them on a rocket to outer space. Drop them from a plane flying over the nuclear wasteland in Nevada that is off limits to everyone for the next million years and hope animals don't somehow bring back any contaminated bits? Maybe burning is bad, but unless you have an alternative to offer, it maybe still be the best solution we have.
