Political parties are merely illusions. Here's the group that's REALLY been in control of everything for way too long!...

You must be one of those on the mentally challenged fringe that loves the meaningless phrase, "two party monopoly." Once you start playing with the real meaning of words, they lose any REAL MEANING. Are you one of those Ralph Nader groupies, or perhaps a Libertarian, or some such odd ilk? You can thank your goofball compadres for the fact that had not Ralph Nader and others run for office in what is in fact NOT a two party monopoly, George Bush would not have been able to steal the presidency and lead us all down the path to a one party theocracy. And down the path to hell in the bargain.

Actually we're a Federal Republic and a democracy. They aren't mutually exclusive. We're also a plutocracy ( rule by the wealthy), and quickly becoming a Corporate state. Other than that the wings of the Republicratic Party( that's right, the Republicans and Democrats are just different wings if the same party) don't want any competition.

The intention of a Democracy is in the Bill of Rights but gravely distorted there after or past 1792. It is our right to amend & change the constitution at public majority will with rule & control for the legal majority!

technically, it's called a duopoly. It is the natural state when the winner is the one with the most votes whether it has a majority or not. When a majority is required, then multiple parties and coalitions make more sense.

It is because of the politically mindless lemmings that inhabit this country.
And by the way, those other monopolies you refer to? They wouldn't be doing us any favors right now, either.
