battery? Did you leave the lights on? If it was the starter, it would at least crank I think. Call a mechanic and ask. They'll tell you what they think it is.

ahh, i have been there.. Often the the battery is charging, and like that is also where lies the problem.. Batterys can wear out without wanring, very much more if you have a dry cell battery, so there is a trick you can do to find out what it is.. First, always be careful around a running engine...Ok, what you can do is first loosen the positive cable from the battery, keep it connected though.. Get a jump start, then when the engine starts, let it run for a min.. After a min, pull the already loosened positive cable off of the battery.. If it is you're battery, the car should stay running, but if the car stops, then it is not you're battery, it is the unit that charges the battery, called the altinator.,.

First thing to check would be the battery and battery cables - if those are OK, you may have a bad spot on the starter.

Sounds like a dead battery. Turn on your radio and see if it work. Might even be your alternator. Try jumping it.

Might be your battery.
Get a jump from a friend or charge your battery up overnight with a charger.'
