I would have to say baby powder. It is inexpensive, comes in different scents, absorbs sweat (which can cause odor) and dosen't have many chemicals. If it is good and safe for babies all the way up to the elderly it will be good for your feet.

The best way is to rotate your shoes. Where a different pair every other day. This gives your shoes time to breath. No need to put anything into them if you take care of them properly. If you get them wet make sure they are completely dry before you wear them again. Simple common sense things we all should do but don't think about.

Take the used dryer sheets that normally get thrown away and stick them inside your tennis shoes. They still retain enough within to help mask the odor and it won't make your socks white.

I personally use baby powder, but if you are a man, there is a goldbond powder especially for this.
Change your socks everyday & do not skip wearing them. Socks absorb the smelly sweat and should protect your shoes. Wearing socks are the key, but the powder is a good trick.

wear natural fabric socks, andalways wear socks. Itisn'tgoing to help with the shoes you have now, but will prevent further problems. If the shoes aren't leather, you could always throw them in the washer with a little bleach and buy new insoles.
