what do you want to know?

I know that the people who have left india are better off living where they are living. I really like living in the US but i do miss the close knit family values of the indian people. I do miss the respect of the younger towards the older. We don't have that here...I love the heritage and proud of it. I am married to a american and she loves my culture and values and our children have the knowlege of where I come from and embrace my heritage. My children love indian food and indian movies!

I have lived in the US for the past 23 yrs and I do miss some things about India. I don't miss the over crowded streets, the smell, the slums, the disgusting public toilets, the corrupt govt and police!

I don't like the men who have double standards, women are not respected as much. I don't like that when u walk on the streets people stare at you and even touch women. i don't like the idea of arranged marriages that end up with a dead person. there is too many caste systems and religion that clash.

I love the culture and history, some of the historical places and the food! The people are very nice in the south. I love south india very much. but there is so much poverty and among the poverty there are so many people who are really smart and intelligent, who have no opportunities and that's sad.

But everyone should visit india, it's so different from the western world.

Love the culture, hated the corrupted government.
Vibrant colors, spicy food!
I miss India sometimes however mostly glad to be away from the poverty and the opressive society. I remember once we were in the Market and many men were starring at us. Many people don't respect women...Even though I consider India my home but I have never felt comfortable there.

Sorry! I don't feel patriotic about my country any more. I love its culture, its past, its rich history, but I hate its present. I hate its leaders, its babus, its police, every single person who works in the government, its corruption...just about everything.
Yet, if any non-Indian says anything negative about it, I would beat the living daylights out of him. That, I don't think is patriotism. It is only conditioning.
