I don't know the 1955. But I married in 1966, were both very happy, 6 kids, and 14 grandkids! I'm 61, and my wife is 66!!

Doubtful, those were things expected of a wife in 1955, times are diffrent, women don't think that way anymore. It's no longer considered a womans destiny to take care of her husband and children and do everything she can to please her man. Do you know any woman who would put up with that? I don't!

eh. probably not. its probably just another male fantasy type of thing......what with having the woman clean, prepare dinner, have everything ready for HIS arrival...........like the woman is inferior.
