Maybe sometimes they work depending on the type of water you have in your area and also the detergents you're using. My mother gave me 2 of the balls to try and honestly, I find the noise annoying and cannot tell any difference with the clothes or towels by using the dryer balls. I am going back to just using dryer sheets, And will enjoy not hearing those things bang around in my dryer!

I don't know about the reducing dryer time but they do soften the clothes reasonably well. You don't get a nice smell like you do from additives like fabric softener but then I guess you could use smelly soap if you wanted that!
I use them regularly and am satisfied.

My mom bought these things. I don't think they work at all. She got them specifically for her towels; she said repeated use of the liquid softener had reduced their absorbency. I didn't notice any difference, and the towels just got scratchy.
And yes, they bonk around in your dryer and make a lot of noise.

They do not work AT ALL! They just did a report on these on one of my local news stations and they put them to the test. They did it step by step and there was absolutely no difference whatsoever between with or without.

NO...I have some and I think I wasted my $20!!!
Don't bother, it's not worth it. They do nothing for static and drying time remains the same!
Hope I saved you some cash!!!!
I switched back to Bounce!
