First off, you screwed up the question. You forgot several parts:
"One door leads to safety, the other to certain doom."
"You only have time to ask each guard one question."
"You can't tell which guard is truthful and which guard is a liar."
Taking these into account, the way to get to the safe door is to ask, "Which door would the other guard tell me to take if I wanted to live?"
If you get the guard that tells you to truth, he tells you the death door. (i.e., if you asked the lying guard which was the safe door, he'd tell you the death door. The truthful guard therefore answers with the death door.)
If you get the guard that lies, he would tell you the death door. (If you asked the truthful guard which was the safe door, he'd tell you, so the lying guard tells you the opposite which is the death door.)
Then... since they will both answer with the death door... you take the other one.

if someone always lies that's the same as someone who always tells the truth. Somehow slightly more believable though. Which door should I take. To the one who always lies. Just so I can say screw you and take the other, and for the reason mentioned above.

You ask "what would the other gaurd say?"
The lier will tell you the wrong door (because the other would tell you the correct door). And the truth teller will tell you the wrong door (because that is what the other would say)
