Here's what is used where I work.

1st shift is 7 am to 3 pm
2nd shift is 3 pm to 11 pm
3rd shift is 11 pm to 7 am

There are slight variances from business to business. Some start 1st shift at 8 am which pushes all the shifts back an hour. Some start at 6 am pushing all the shifts ahead an hour respectively. Ask what time first shift starts and you can figure out the rest from there.

Hope this helps and have a great day!!!

1st shift is a morning shift . Depending on the hours established by the company this is usually 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, 9-5.
2nd shift is an afternoon shift. This is usually 2-10, 3-11, 4-12pm
3rd shift is night shift. This is normally 10-6, 11-7, 12-8am

Some shifts may overlap one another if say the company needed two or more people on duty at the same time.
Hope this helps.

Generally, first shift refers to the day shift, with second shift running from late afternoon to nightfall, and third shift being the night shift. On occasion, more complex schedules are used, perhaps involving employees changing shifts, in order to operate during weekends as well, in which case there will be four or more sets of employees.

you should just be happy you got a job!! if you do start on the day shift, it won't be long before you are bumped to another shift because of low seniority. the best shift i ever worked was the night shift.

It depends on where your working.

Best thing to do is ask them the start and finish times of each shift.

1st is 7am-3pm,2nd is 3pm-11pm or midnight, and 3rd is 11pm or midnight to 7am. So you want to work 1st shift.
