the doctor is just a guideline remember that. So if they tell you only four but the baby is still fussy and wants more give it to them. My son ate six ounces at that age and daughter was anywhere between 3 to 5 just depending on the feeding. She wasted allot of formula! I say start with four and for the first couple bottles burp every ounce and if it is difficult to burp try another half ounce to ounce. My baby is four months old and is burping every three ounces now. Hope this helped, Good luck.

I would start with 2 ounces, and go from there. If he still seems hungry after 2 ounces, make 1 or 2 more. for 6 wks old, 2 to 4 ounces is about right.

I would say start with 4, but I wold burp him every ounce because he will need to adjust to the formula. He will let you know if he wants more, plus they reccomend short and more frequent feedings when switching from breat to formula or to a different formula. It will help their systems adjust better and less gas and bloating.

I would say 4-6 to start, depending on how often he eats.
