MIKE G, she didn't ask for a science lesson! Ha ha! I don't really know what absence of colour is, could be anything! Maybe it means there is no colour, or maybe it means without warmth? Oh, it could mean without more information! Bit of an open question and very deep for a kid!! Maybe he's a genius!

Actually, color exists only in your brain. What your brain, via your eyes, perceives as color is only different frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum. Different materials absorb or reflect different spectrum frequencies at different rates, so your brain perceives them as having different colors. If a material absorbs all the frequencies, your brain perceives it as black. If a material reflects all the frequencies, your brain perceives it as black. If a material absorbs some of the frequencies and relflects others, your brain perceives it as an corresponding color which is neither black nor white.
Walk outside barefoot some cool day, and put one foot on black asphalt and the other on white concrete. The asphalt will feel hotter, because it's absorbing most of the spectrum energy. The concrete will feel cooler, because it's reflecting most of the spectrum energy.
It's the same with sound which also exists, via your ears, only in your brain. All sound is merely different frequencies of otherwise soundless pressure waves in the ambient air until your ears permit your brain to perceive it as sound. Your brain experiences low frequency pressure waves as a bass pitch and high frequency pressure waves as a treble pitch.
Cheers.

Black absorbs all color, whereas white reflects all colors so the answer would be black. If you shine all the different colors in one spot of light it would be white. However, in painting, the reverse is true. All colors combined make black and the absence of color is white.
