I would personally vote for shaming them, through TV and press they could be shown to ,dive, feign injury and generally cheating.
Other ideas welcome.

Video replays shown to the crowd. If they are guilty of cheating the abuse suffered by both sets of fans during the remainder of the game should humiliate the cheat and team mates enough for them to think twice about this in the future. If not, send them off not for an early bath but fifty lashes with a barb wire 2 by 4, should do the trick.

Cheat of the year award.

Given at the same time as the sportsman of the year award at the same ceremony. Most wouldnt bother to turn up but read out the nominations anyhow and make them the laughing stock so that all the kids watching look up to the good guys and down on the bad.

We fix the current generation and inspire the next.

how about awarding the booking the innocent player gets to the offending cheat!! if he was sent off as a result off the dive then the player (lets say for instance drogba or robben) who done the dive serves the resulting ban!! this should just about stop them.

Let the television be used as evidence, and replay incidents in the stadium, divers and pretend injurys make the game a laughing stock.

cheating! what a small word for a huge meaning
I think that we can stop cheating if we stop cheat our self and other people .that is in general. bunt in the game that the faifa puts very difficults rolls for those how cheat. and of curse we could remained the players that the game exist for having fun not for money.

We cant, simple as that. We just have to accept that what the ref doesnt see doesnt count, apart from incidents like the ben thatcher one. In places like argentina they see diving as part and parcel of the game, using your head and tricking the referee.
