My husband I did this last year - same as one of the previous posters, my OB wrote a work order for my husband to have his sperm sample tested at our local Quest Diagnostics office (a lab), and they sent the results to my OB. Some folks are saying a urologist, though, so it might just depend on where you live and what's nearby. But always start with your OB if you're getting your husband's sperm tested. Your OB will point you guys in the right direction.

Hi Alice, we just went through that...My ob/gyn sent my husband to the lab(where they usually draw blood). He gave the sample here at home and had to bring it to the lab within 1 hour. It is no big deal at all he says. Hope this helps.

When we were going through this, my husband could either go to the fertility center where we going at the time; or he could take a sample at home and bring it to the lab at the hospital (where my ob/gyn practiced) to have it tested. They also told us we could have taken the order to our regular physician and he could have sent off our sample.

Your ob/gyn can write the order, but if he doesn't want to go there, he can see his PCP or a urologist for the order.
