I think you'll find that people who were already not going to vote Republican like yourself, will still not vote Republican. I think those that were going to vote Republican (w/the exception of Foley's district) still will. It will change no one's mind. I think the press and the Democrats are pushing too hard for punishment for sins they are also guilty of in the past and did nothing.

There was nothing to turn over. The e-mails were not explicit enough to be deemed anything other than "questionable," and nobody knew about the IMs until after the story broke.
If they had done something earlier - say accuse him with no more evidence, the Left would have accused the Republicans of being Homophobes - especially if there was nothing else there.
Besides, there's still some question as to whether Foley did anything ILLEGAL.

several years ago the senator from mass. got caught messing with page boys. he came out of the closet, claimed to be gay and said he was going to continue his activities. he was reelected. guess that is the way it is in boston.
