Society has it in its brain that larger girls are ugly. Why is that? Yes, ok, so we don’t have the best body, but that doesn’t me we are hideous! I am a larger girl, (Not obese, but far from a stick) and every one of my thinner girl’s friends says that ‘Ya…your ok Keri, your not hideous….’ Yet they forced when they say this. Why is it that larger people are being hated by people that are thinner?

P.S. I Think I am pretty, my boyfriend thinks so too lol. Some people say that they don enjoy looking at obese people. My say to that, is… ‘Then don’t look if it makes you that repulsed!’

Its my opinion that bigotry towards large women (men too) is among the last acceptable areas where it is still socially acceptable to be intolerant. We must not ever be prejudiced against those of different races, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, etc., but it is fine to be intolerant to the overweight.
Society has embraced the anorexic look as the "ideal" form . . .I personally think that look is rather ugly.
Just because someone is large, does NOT mean they have to be sloppy, dirty or otherwise disgusting. If a person takes care of themself, has good hygiene and dresses size appropriately, they can look very attractive indeed.
Examples of beautiful larger women?
Delta Burke
Queen Latifa
I defy anyone to tell me either of these ladies is disgusting looking.
People who look down upon or otherwise denigrate a larger sized person is simply practicing a form of bigotry and should be pitied.
You should re-evaluate your friendships if they seem to be paying you shallow compliments or otherwise appear to be insincere.

i will basically answer this question in my opinion. i do no longer think of better women all of us is gruesome in any respect, in actuality many are very gorgeous (i'm no longer les, btw lol, i'm basically asserting). My project with people who're obese or perhaps basically obese is that this is undesirable and that i'm a well-being nut. and specially circumstances this isn't any longer so staggering to seem at, yet then some people gown better than others, precise? you're precise, it does not make you hideous. I particularly have some better buddies and that i basically difficulty approximately their well-being because of the fact carrying better weight is stressful on the physique. i wish this facilitates some.

I find that large people make more comments to me and on my weight than I would ever make to them. I am tired of going somewhere and a bigger lady will damn near yell, oooh youre so skinnnnny.
In my experience, larger people are the affronters. I have always been teased for being skinny, esp. by big ppl. They make rude comments, like because Im skinny I should just take it. Being fat is not anymore of a hardship than being too skinny. I was once told by an overweight cousin that skinny girls must have a hard time getting laid (yes she was a h0e) but thats just an example of the rude, crude, snide, and jealously driven remarks that ppl make to me.
I have never said anything, such as, youre pretty for a big girl, or any other equally uncomplimentive, 'compliment'. I also have never openly asked, 'why do you eat so much?' for as many overweight people feel its okay to rudely say to me 'OMG do you eat?'
I am skinny and have been all of my life, and it seems to me that heavier people are always trying to make thin ppl feel like freaks. I dont have any type of hatred for anyone overweight, I do feel that if it is morbid & obese, then it is nasty, but I still dont care to comment or make jokes, but thats just me. If it is 20-30 lbs, no one even notices in todays society, where I think about half of all americans are overweight now. Skinny ppl are the victims & fat ppl think they can push us around.
And I'm sure if youre honest with yourself you will realize that you probably say disparaging & rude remarks to your skinny friends all day, as if its somehow more acceptable to comment on someones thinness than their fatness. Its not.

Well am a voluptuous gal, very curvy and yea, sometimes i observe that the skinny gals sorta have issues wiv me, but then i think thats caz of low self esteem, caz am really pretty nd it don't matter what they say, they jus don't bring me down-m comfy nd beautiful and the guys think so too. Ve got skinny friends who really hate stuff about their bodies and are always tryna avoid getting big so they starve themselves! in the end, i'd say we big gals have mo fun than they do and they jus hate us 4 it- i mean what have we got to lose?

Well my mom is a larger woman and i am not a stick myself, but they have alot of store that have very pretty and form fitting clothes, Fashion Bug is one of those places. Society today is soo shallow it isn't even funny. But the world's opinion of you doesn't matter just the veiw you have of yourself. I just keep that in mind each morning when i leave.

TV has mostly thin actresses, many commercials are aimed towards weight loss. i don't think many people hate fat women as much as the women hate themselves for being fat. There is a fact that obese men are treated better than obese women.

I'm not too skinny and my best friend is a large girl. To me she is one of the prettiest women I've ever seen. Really pretty. She's in my avatar pick with me...I'm the blonde.
Did I mention my sexy beast of a husband is 5'9" and 255lbs?

A lot of times it is jealousy. I have friends from all ends of the spectrum...but a lot of my smaller friends have huge self-esteem issues. There are also a lot of thin people who don't have curves and they are acting out on that envy. I tell people all the time, "I would rather be cut and fat than unattractive and skinny...because I can always lose weight if I want to."

You don't look so large and you are very attractive - Don't worrie about other people and their silly ways - Be Happy just the way you are
