I keep getting called by this number into my voicemail but they never leave a message. If I ring back I get an American voice telling me that this is not a valid extension.

It is definitely a Brighton Number. You could try BT dial 152 for their customer services. If it is not ex-directory they should be able to tell you who it is. It sounds like a computer sales system cold-calling your phone. Companies have started to phone voicemail direct as people are more likely to listen to a message than one of their sales reps! You can block calls like this by registering on the telephone preference website: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/
I did that and it did cut down on the amount of calls, tho i do get some. If it is your mobile they are calling you should be able to block the number either on your handset or via the service provider.

I'm pretty sure it's the same number as the one I kept getting calls from whilst on holiday abroad (that was a Brighton & Hove code too). In the end I answered it as they called so often, so figured it might have been important. It's a flippin' mobile phone call centre trying to flog pay monthly contracts.

I was mightily miffed, as I was abroad, it cost me to answer the call......

This phone is actually from vodafone. They probably are advertising their new wireless services through these calls. And many are confused with that number.

so you think it is ok to publish somebodys phone number on the internet without their permission?

Just hope the owner of that number doesn't see this or you could be in big trouble...
