Good question. I sure wish the news media would report on this:

Continued growth and development of the Iraqi security forces:
--In past year number of Trained & Equipped ISF nearly doubled. Over 216,000 ISF now trained and equipped. In Nov 2004 about 115,000. Now, over 125 Army and Special Police battalions are in the fight; with over 50 battalions considered in the lead for counterinsurgency operations.
--In March three battalions controlled battle space in Baghdad, now 33 battalions control battle space throughout Iraq.
--2 divisions, 7 brigades, and about 45 Iraqi Army battalions should be ready to assume battle space by January 2006.
--50% of Baghdad under operational control of ISF.
--30 of 110 FOBs turned over to the Iraqis or closed.
--Thousands of new businesses have opened in Iraq, personal income is up, and according to one survey, seven in 10 Iraqis say their own lives are going well, and nearly two-thirds expect things to improve in the next year.
--The Iraqi GDP is expected to grow in real terms by 3.7% in 2005 and nearly 17% in 2006.

That was from AKO. So is this (in a letter sent to us from a LTC):
"Despite a significant enemy suicide attack against our Iraqi Police station on 21 August, the station remains open and the Iraqi Police continue to assist with security operations in the area thanks to the herculean efforts of the Regulars!..."

There were more emails about the police station, but I think I accidentally deleted them. There isn't much room in my AKO mailbox.

Because they lean so far to the left, that everything of any consequence slides right past them.
