"A dream is a wish your heart makes..." I believe is the song.
Of course, in your dream, your former lover doesn't do any of the things that caused him to BE your former lover.
People who break up do so for a reason. Getting back together often works only until one or the other gets reminded often enough of the reason the broke up to begin with.
Just enjoy the dream - but don't mistake wishful thinking for reality.

Dreams rarely mean what they appear to through literal translation. Sounds like you're searching for something, maybe some part of your relationship with this guy that was fun and made you happy. Only you know the real answer.

I found from personal experience that the two of you will probably get back together. It make take a lot of time, but things always seem to work out in the end. Especially if you were in love with each other!!!

To dream that you are making out with your ex, signifies your acceptance of certain characteristics of your ex. The dream does not necessarily mean that you want to get back together with him or her. Consider what were the things you liked and disliked about him. These are the same qualities that you are finally acknowledging within your own self.

Did you think of him, hear from him, or see him earlier in the day? Have you gotten some from anyone else lately? If No-NO you're horny, no big deal. If No-YES it wasn't fullfilling and you just yearned for more with your imagination, If Yes-NO you're horny, If Yes-YES, there maybe some latent feeling repressed...confront it by talking to him or just forget about it.

If you have current relationship, that could mean not satisfied with him.
If you don't, that means you are lonely, seeking for companionship
If you do have relationship now, and happy about it. That is only a symbol of what you remembered in your subconscious mnid.

Doesn't mean a thing, with regard to life events.
Just enjoy the dream and move on.

Doesn't mean you are still in love neither does it mean that you are not. Just that you may miss something out of the relation, or that you are scared of going on with your life or there is something you are not getting in your new one. (the second answer is more likely).
don't worry you will forget him, if he wasn't worth it.

I've had those dreams about my X husband. I was told it means you miss the comfortable area you 2 had, you miss the intimacy you had too.
