DEPENDS ON WHO YOUR PROBATION OFFICER IS. IF YOU GET A COOL ONE, YOU CAN DO AN EASY PROBATION STINT BUT IF YOU GET AN A.HOLE YOU MIGHT END UP IN PRISON.

Depends on whether it's Summary or Formal Probation. Summary is easy, just fill out a little form each month and mail it in. If they order Community Service, you do that with it until you complete the hours they set.
Formal Probation is for serious charges and you have to check into the probation office in person once a month, usually have fines to pay and many other provisions to abide by.

If the probation is the un-adjudicated type ( do not have to report to a Probation Officer, it is okay, this is reserved for first offender types)... remember to obey all laws and if laws are violated, they will "roll the probationer up" and off he or she goes to serve the entire portion of punishment behind bars.
If probation conditions require reporting to a Probation Officer, I suggest that it be done...they have the right to enter into a probationers home at any time they so choose, search, seize and incarcerate.

I don't know through personal experience, but a close friend was on probation. It sucks!

Depending on what kind of probation you got, you may have to check in with a probation officer on a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly basis.

Depends on the probation officer, the crime and your criminal history. Some people have to check in very frequently. Some people can go months without hearing from their PO.

depends on what ype of probations you get, and what the judge adds to it. if its not that strict then it aint that bad . if it is a strict then i could imagine it would suck pretty bad. but it also depends what you are getting probation for also. i have been on it for a couple of fights but it wasnt all that bad it almost seemed as if i wasnt even on it. except when you have to go talk to your probation officer and pay your fines.

UnitedAnswerLeague(UAL)'s answer is right, with one exception.

If you're talking about misdemeanor probation (like when you do deferred adjudication for a speeding ticket), it just means you can't get any tickets during the time you're on probation.

You do nothing that the judge does not allow you to, and only under his terms.
