Its gills don't like water going in backwards they are meant for expelling air not inhaling it

PS I used to live next door to zippy and George from rainbow do I get the ten points for that.
his name is Roy skelton and he did the voices for zippy and George also Davros the leader of the daleks. he also wrote the stories for rainbow and the program Rock on cloud high and the very next time I see him(he moved but still owns the house next door) I will get you his autograph and scan it onto my 360 page, now do I get the ten points???

I think this is a fair question, Dodds - a bloody good query, in fact. What's wrong with some people? Why are they so touchy? That goes to the trio further up there. I reckon we should be able to pull people backwards, not to drown them, but to instil a bit of humour into them!! They need it : )

Well, I think this gives us food for thought. Ernie E put it best, so yes, pulling a goldfish backwards will drown the little suckers. The resulting force would impact upon their gills and in turn affect their breathing.

You keep the good work going, Dodds!! For me this would make a good hypothesis. But do you think this is how Gent catches his fish on his fishing trips?......Hahaha!! Have a good weekend!! x

You can drown any fish by pulling them backwards,a fish opens its mouth and pulls water in over its gills if you drag it backwards then you force water backwards through its gills and it cannot breath

yes
gills only work one way. similar with sharks they have to move continually or will drown, water has to pass over gills to oxygen exchange.

try and see!

Nah, you'll be fine. Just don't try and strap a motor to its back, that's when the problems start.
