Do you think it is better to work outside the home and use daycare, to stay home and not work at all, or to work in a home office and take care of children at home, just using daycare or nanny for meetings, etc.?

Hands down, my answer would have to be work from home. When my children were little, I worked outside of the home and the nightmare of finding sitters and nannies was just too much. Your kids grow up so fast and I missed out on many things because of work.
I had tried a few different home businesses to supplement my income, but all I really got was tax breaks and a few dollars here and there. Until I found the company I am with now. I started earning an income on my 2nd day and it builds all the time because of this one of a kind product that has proven beneficial to everyone I have shared it with. The meetings are held on the phone nearly every night, and are optional. We also communicate with each other using messenger services so when you have questions, someone is always around, therefore, no sitter needed for meetings! This company has eliminated all of the usual obstacles associated with working from home and made it easier than ever.
My daughters are in their early 20's now, and I have taught them how to run their own business to supplement their income so they will have everything in place by the time they settle down and have children. The way things are going, they will not need it as a supplement, but rather as their only source of income.

It depends on the amount of money you need and the tradeoffs.
If you earn less then the daycare charges, then no.
If you earn a little more than daycare, then maybe.
If you make way more than daycare, then you will have to decide how much you miss your kids during the day.

I would recommend working out a situation where you can work at home 2-3 days at week and at the office the other days. On the days you are at the office, you can get a sitter. The days at the office will be nice so that you can get in an office setting to focus on work.

I am a SAHM but I am also a college student. I tried daycare but it cost to much & my kids were left to cry. It was horrible. I do not put my kids in daycare.
I put an ad in the paper to pay a "nanny" for her to come play w/ my kids an hour to an hour and a half a day M-F. I hired a young lady w/ a 3 year old. I use what is left out of a federal pell grant to pay her (shhhhh)

Basically... I get a break from the kids... which makes me a better mom! I get adult time. I also get to keep my skills sharp so when I return to the workforce I won't be worthless.

The boys benefit from not being in daycare & having another child to play with. They also learn a lot from having different types of people care for them.

There are many positives and negatives to daycare & going back to work. But its not worth it to me
They are only KIDS ONCE! I love this stage of their lives.

Good Luck on whatever you choose.

I worked nights while my child was young so I could be home with him in the day ,of course I sacrificed a little sleep but i think it was worth it. I never used day care. I really think it depends on the indvidual and what is the best for them most parents have to work and they need daycare thats ok especially if you have a good one. If you are able to stay home with your child/children do it! and dont forget to schedule time for yourself because you are the glue that keeps everything together.

Do I work at home? No, I'm unemployed. Are you a mom? No, I'm a dad. Do you think it is better to work outside the home... No, I think it's better to be a kid and have the whole world constantly worried about what's the best way to raise me. Just do it, people. If you have a choice, then you probably don't live in Michigan!
