I sure would! I work in nursing so I do know the realities of some of these places. I would just hope that my kids would care enough to choose a really nice place, not just the cheapest dump they could find. This is why you need to keep a good relationship with your kids. LOL

Yes, I would, I have been a care giver to my Mother for along time, and I would not want my kids to go through it. It is a rough decision, you always want the best for your parents, but it is very rough being the caregiver. I tell my kids, to please put me there, I will have my meals, don't have to change beds anymore, and give those old men some viagra, and I will make up for lost times, lol They have some very nice ones, anymore, beautiful dinning areas, nice game rooms, and most are very clean.

Yes. However, in most cases, it is almost impossible to care for elderly parents without a boat load of money so these decisions are made out of necessity instead of choice. That is precisely why my husband and I have made living wills in the event we were to become so incapacitated. We will NOT place that burden on them or on each other. They need to have their own lives to live.

Yes. It's ridiculous that old people expect that they'll be taken care of like a baby for the rest of their lives. Your kids have lives too and sometimes it's just plain hard to have to take care of someone older than you.
Like my grandfather. He can't do much for himself anymore and he needs taking care of. But my family has lives and not enough time or energy to take care of a grown adult.
We still visit him but the nurses and doctors are better equipped to deal with his problems than we are.

I would much rather stay in my own home and have someone come in and take care of me. I don't know if I could forgive them or not.

Given the choice between forgiving and not. I would eventually come around to forgiveness.

If I need nursing care, I probably need to be stuck in a home for the aged. Can't blame them for it, it they need to work and can't take care of me well.

I would because i watched as My mother took care of my aged grandparents who were nothing but a shll of there former selves Alzheimer's wow what it did to her it was so hard ..
No one should go through what she went through .. but it was a promise she made and she kept it . almost at her demise . it was way too much for her ..
and she had a demanding husband at home as well.

Certainly...my failure to prepare for my elder years is no reason that my children should have to be burdened taking care of me. I would hope they'd visit, though, cause statistics show nursing home patients who have regular family visits are treated better and live longer and have better health.

Also it could happen to them even first! Since they are not in my life that much I don't think they have any rights at all as to how I live my life! I would break out and whip their behind.
