Back in August, a peptic ulcer I have had since high school flared up worse than ever, landing me in the ER. I recognize the symptoms of it and take Prilosec (though at times I forget). Sometimes, it gets irritated, but nothing debilitating.
The other night, I woke up with stomach pains--went to the bathroom and nearly passed out. I was doubled over, nearly vomiting, and got horrible cold sweats. I did not vomit but had diarrhea.
Anyway, I have had food poisoning before, and the symptoms I had were exactly those. However, nobody else who ate what I did that day got sick.
Does it sound like food poisoning or is this a bizarre ulcer flare up of which I should be aware? Thanks!

I don't need to go to the doctor because the nausea has stopped, but I may mention it at my next visit.

As for the H Pylori infection---what were your symptoms? How long did it last? I only had that one instance of severe sickness with two days of feeling just kinda bleck.

when my mom had food poisoning she couldnt stay out of the bathroom for more then five mins. she looked and felt like she was going to die.

thats my only experience with it so I guess its one of those things where you definately know whether or not you have it.

to be on the safe side you may want to go to the doctor and have them run some tests. they can tell you right away whether or not you have food poisoning.

good luck

I wouldn't take any chances. Go see your doctor just in case. I doubt you would be over food poisening in one day also.

sounds like you have a good ol stomach bug. Just because you have diarrhea doesn't mean you have something awful.
Besides...why not just go to the MD?
